Custom Vinyls, a division of Patrick Industries located in Waco, TX is seeking a highly energetic, motivated and passionate Continuous Improvement and EHS Specialist. The CI/EHS Specialist will embrace critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills while paying attention to detail and being able to multi-task. As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will be tasked with identifying opportunities for improving processes, both on the production floor as well as throughout the Manufacturing Facility.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Implement and take the lead on Continuous Improvement Projects within multiple departments while working with Production and the Plant Manager by developing more efficient processes.
• Lead and develop Patrick’s Operational Excellence program by working with the local Leadership Team as well as the Regional Op-Ex Team.
• Analyzing key KPI’s in operations and implementing changes and tracking key return on investments (ROI). 
• Assist with new product developments with new machines and added value stream business.
• Establish and oversee the health and safety processes for the organization. 
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, federal and state regulations.
• Train employees on safety protocols with daily Toolbox Talks, SOP’s, and EHS Trainings.
• Work directly with 3rd party Environmental Health Services to properly manage and be compliant with the state of Texas EHS requirements and standards.
• Respond to workplace accidents and incidents, complete incident reports, provide injury and machine documentation to Human Resources on Workers Compensation Claims, and determine the root cause and ways to prevent a repeat or similar occurrence.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Manufacturing experience is a plus
• Strong computer literacy skills; 5 Years of Microsoft Office Suite Experience
• High capacity for pulling and analyzing data into presentable and deliverable format
• Strength in managing multiple projects at one time with organizational skills to match
• Ability to work across multiple departments; engaging and leading CI/Safety initiatives through leaders in each department
• Strong leadership skills; leading safety talks, OSHA training needs with team members, driving CI projects
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications strongly preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively and with technical information
• The ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
• The ability to withstand high and low temps in a warehouse environment

• Ability to build professional relationships with internal employees, external customers, and vendors
