Patrick Industries is looking to add a Staff Accountant to its growing team! The Staff Accountant will be responsible for completing receivable and payable transactions, daily and monthly reports and assisting the accounting staff as needed with various other tasks.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Perform Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, including billing, collection, vouchering, resolving discrepancies and distribution of related documents to both internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Sales tax reporting
  • Account Reconciliations
  • Review, approve and journalize corporate credit card transactions
  • Maintain accurate process and procedures for all reports and tasks on an on-going basis
  • Continuously recommend improvements in order to focus on value-added projects
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist as needed with various accounting assignments or projects
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3+ years’ experience in Accounting or Finance, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, specifically Excel required
  • Qualified candidates must be comfortable with overnight travel approximately once a quarter
  • Knowledge in Accounts Receivables and Payables
  • Knowledge of Basic Accounting principles
  • Excellent customer-service skills
  • A self-starter with a high degree of motivation
  • Ability to work independently
  • Problem solving orientation and the skills to develop solutions for unanticipated issues
  • High level of detail orientated with ability to analyze and perform with accuracy within deadlines
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English is required
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect) are necessary qualities
