Sea-Dog, a division of Patrick Industries, is hiring a Plant Controller to join their team in Everett, WA! The Controller will be responsible for the oversight, leadership and coordination of accounting, financial reporting, financial management, purchasing and budgeting efforts as it relates to the facilities growing operation.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Guides Business Unit financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies, procedures & internal controls
  • Monthly financial reporting - 3 Day monthly close (Reviewing and Preparing journal entries)
  • Management reporting - Prepare and report results to Sea-Dog Management and Corporate
  • Prepares quarterly budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data and recommending plans to Business Unit Leaders
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report issues to management and Corporate
  • Lead and coordinate inventory management and physical inventory control & procedures
  • Margin by customer/product analysis inclusive of pricing strategy
  • Make credit decisions and assist in collections as needed
  • Assist in managing Account Payable (reviewing and approving invoices/payments)
  • Maintain a system of record to adhere to all accounting best practices, policies and procedures
  • Prepares supplemental and ad-hoc reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Calculate and issue financial and operational metrics
  • Lead and coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Capital expenditure tracking and management
  • Support and administer HR items including payroll and benefits
  • Collaborate with all other business and operational disciplines such as HR, Purchasing, and Sales
  • Assist in managing sales/use tax returns/compliance

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Candidates should have 5+ years’ of Accounting/Finance Experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in terms of being clear, concise, and professional with the ability to work effectively with a wide array of plant personnel ranging from hourly employees to senior management
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines and work independently with little to no oversight
  • Strong accountability and follow-through skills
  • Strong analytical/critical thinking
  • A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, self-awareness, humility, confidence, honesty, and respect) are necessary qualities
