The Sr. Sales Analyst role gathers sales and forecasting analytics and drives utilization and accountability through the designated CRM tool.  In addition, this role optimizes promotional and operational efforts through the analysis and prediction of sales trends and markets, assess customer metrics, competitor information, and sales channels to determine the best methods of increasing both revenue and market share. 

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Troubleshooting customer issues:  providing data and guidance to the sales team, managing sales tracking tools and analyzing trends.
  • Sales Reporting: Creating regular reports on sales performance, including key metrics such as sales revenue, sales pipeline, conversion rates, and sales trends. These reports are often presented to senior management to inform decision-making.
  • Sales Planning and Strategy: Collaborating with sales management to develop sales plans and strategies. This may involve setting sales targets, defining sales territories, and identifying tactics to achieve sales objectives.
  • Market Research: Conducting market research to understand customer needs, preferences, and competitive landscape. This information is used to refine sales strategies and identify new business opportunities.
  • Sales Process Optimization: Evaluating the effectiveness of sales processes and identifying areas for improvement. This may involve streamlining workflows, implementing new technologies, or providing training to sales teams.
  • CRM Management: Managing the company's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure accurate and up-to-date sales data. This includes data entry, customization, and generating reports from the CRM platform.
  • Sales Performance Metrics: Developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales teams, such as sales targets, conversion rates, average deal size, and sales cycle length.
  • Sales Training and Support: Providing training and support to sales teams on sales tools, processes, and best practices. This helps ensure that sales representatives are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as marketing, finance, and operations, to align sales efforts with overall business goals and objectives.
  • Presentation and Communication: Presenting findings, recommendations, and insights to various stakeholders, including senior management, sales teams, and cross-functional teams. Effective communication skills are essential for conveying complex data in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously seeking ways to improve sales effectiveness and efficiency through data-driven insights and process improvements.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field
  • Candidates must have 4+ years’ experience in a Finance related role.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical skills are essential for interpreting sales data, identifying trends, and making data-driven recommendations.
  • Statistical Analysis: Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and techniques (e.g., regression analysis, hypothesis testing) is often required to derive meaningful insights from sales data.
  • Data Management: Ability to collect, organize, and manage large datasets using tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, or business intelligence software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Forecasting: Experience in sales forecasting methodologies and techniques to predict future sales performance accurately.
  • CRM Systems: Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics, including data entry, customization, and reporting functionalities.
  • Market Research: Knowledge of market research methodologies and techniques to gather insights into customer behavior, preferences, and market trends.
  • Presentation Skills: Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, finance, and IT, to align sales analysis efforts with business objectives.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: A proactive approach to identifying issues, analyzing root causes, and proposing solutions to optimize sales performance.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs, technologies, and market dynamics in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex concepts and insights in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strategic Thinking: A strategic mindset to assess long-term sales goals and develop plans to achieve them.
  • Leadership Skills: In some cases, senior roles may require leadership skills to lead a team of analysts or collaborate with sales management in decision-making processes.
