We are seeking an experienced D365 Functional Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of business solutions across Microsoft Dynamics 365. This role focuses on translating business needs into scalable, efficient functional designs while ensuring alignment with best practices and system capabilities. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, driving successful implementations and continuous improvements.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Functional Leadership & Solution Design
- Lead the functional design of D365 solutions across Finance & Operations (F&O), Supply Chain, or Customer Engagement (CE)
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and solution designs
- Conduct fit/gap analysis and recommend optimal use of standard D365 functionality vs customization
- Ensure solutions align with business processes, compliance requirements, and industry best practices
Business Engagement
- Partner with business leaders, SMEs, and stakeholders to understand goals and challenges
- Facilitate workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and solution reviews
- Act as a trusted advisor to the business on D365 capabilities and process improvements.
Implementation & Delivery
- Support end-to-end implementations including design, configuration, testing, and deployment
- Collaborate with technical architects and developers to ensure solutions are implemented as designed
- Oversee data migration strategies, system integrations, and process workflows from a functional perspective
- Assist in defining test scenarios, UAT coordination, and validation of business requirements
Process Optimization
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes using D365 capabilities
- Drive standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across business units
- Ensure proper documentation of business processes and system configurations
Governance & Best Practices
- Establish and enforce functional standards and design principles
- Ensure consistency across modules, business units, and implementations
- Support change management, training, and user adoption efforts
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field
- 12+ years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (F&O, CE, or both)
- Strong functional expertise in one or more areas (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service, etc.)
- Proven experience leading or contributing to full lifecycle D365 implementations
- Deep understanding of business processes and ERP/CRM best practices
- Experience conducting fit/gap analysis and writing functional design documents
- Microsoft D365 Functional Consultant or Solution Architect certifications
- Experience working in multi-entity or complex enterprise environments
- Familiarity with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
- Experience supporting integrations and working alongside technical teams
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Self-motivated with proven track record showing the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines and work independently with limited oversight
