Patrick Industries Corporate Office is currently hiring a Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance and Accounting Departments. Staff Accountants are responsible for accounting process, and related management reporting for all Business Units within Patrick. While utilizing hands-on accounting experience, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and company practices, Senior Staff Accountants perform complex accounting activities and financial analysis. The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the Accounting Manager who has the oversight, leadership and coordination of accounting, financial reporting, financial management, business management and budgeting efforts as it relates to the consolidated financials of our growing operation. In this position, you will have exposure to Senior Leaders and have the ability to gain experience and knowledge of growing companies who serve different industries throughout the United States.

 

Essential job functions will include:

 

  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Monthly financial reporting timely
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
  • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
  • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to the Corporate leadership
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Candidates must 2+ years’ experience in a Finance or Accounting related role
  • Strong technical skills including Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables and Lookups); Alteryx experience considered a plus
  • Experience to include general understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Act is desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in terms of being clear, concise, and professional with the ability to work effectively with a wide array of Team Members
  • Ability to quickly adapt communications in a variety of settings to meet the unique needs of multiple audiences
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines and work independently with little to no oversight
  • Strong accountability and follow-through skills
  • Ability and desire to train and coach others to improve performance
  • Strong analytical/critical thinking
  • A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect) are necessary qualities
