Patrick Industries is currently hiring an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing team at the Corporate Office. The Senior Staff Accountant will be primarily responsible for the company-wide capital expenditure and lease accounting transaction cycles, as well as the related management reporting for all Business Units within Patrick. While utilizing hands-on accounting experience and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles and company practices, senior accountant performs complex accounting activities and financial analyses utilized by management to drive business decisions.

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Review lease contracts and determined the correct accounting treatment
  • Maintain approximately $95M in right of use lease assets/liabilities on the corporate consolidated balance sheet
  • Initiate and manage acquisition lease valuations with outside valuation firms
  • Perform in-depth analysis and provide various lease reporting for leadership (e.g. depreciation and lease expense forecasting, historical spend reports, etc.)
  • Create journal entries as part of the standard month end close process
  • Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations
  • Prepare footnote disclosure tables for leases
  • Perform job responsibilities in accordance with SOX requirements
  • Assist with external and internal financial audit requests

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • Minimum of 3 years' Accounting Experience
  • Accounting/GAAP expertise is required
  • Experience using Microsoft AX is highly desired
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Lease Query (online software utilized for lease subledger)
  • Independent thinker with strong analytic and critical thinking skills
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects independently, with minimal direction, and with solid follow through
  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication abilities
  • Strong ability to mediate complex cross functional issues and work with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to complete projects timely and accurately is critical
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate high performance leadership standards and builds/develops high-performance
