Gravure Ink, a division of Patrick Industries, is growing and looking to add a Graphic Designer to their growing team. The Graphic Designer is part of a team of Surface Designers that work closely with the Sales and Production teams of the business to develop in trend designs that appeal to customer needs as well as the manufacturing process. This position is in office setting with a smaller size team of individuals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Trend Analysis:
- Create new products using existing Gravure designs to adhere to upcoming market trends
- Build trend reports and host meetings to review reports with team members.
- Proposing design shows/conventions in order to grow design book of business.
- Researching resources to find design vendors for veneer, fabric, and other materials.
Product Development:
- Collaborate with Sales and Design Team based on customer feedback.
- Present a range of new designs/concepts based on trend analysis and market needs.
- Prioritize projects to ensure deadlines and customer needs are met.
- Archive and maintain files for product development and correspondence with clients.
- Collaborate with Production Development Team to ensure needs/standards are met.
- Scanning textile, stone, and wood grains to aid in pattern development. Separate according to manufacturing needs.
- Utilize various techniques to create new designs using graphic resources.
- Review final layouts and suggest improvements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years in related field as a surface/textile designer
- Professional knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of AVA CAD CAM is a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook and Excel
- Knowledge of spot color separation is a plus
- Pre-press knowledge is a plus
- MAC and PC workstation capabilities
- Able and willing to expand knowledge as technology advances
- Strong interest in interior design
- Organized and proactive to overcome issues that arise
- Confident in making decisions on color and aesthetic prior to presenting to Sales
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to handle fast paced environment with deadlines
- Ability to multitask and jump on projects as they occur
- Highly motivated and upbeat attitude, willing to take on challenges and work independently or in a team setting to achieve goals
- Ability to accept criticism
- Ability to build professional relationships with internal employees, external customers, and vendors
