We are seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Director to oversee EHS compliance for all locations of the growing RV Segment of the growing business. The EHS Director will work closely with Leaders throughout the Business Units to influence change and build a Safety First Culture throughout the growing number of both manufacturing and distribution facilities.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

Reporting to Director of Operational Excellence in collaboration with the VP of Environmental, Health, and Safety, the Director of Environmental, Health and Safety is responsible for providing the RV Segment with strategic direction and leadership for EHS initiatives. This will include the overall framework and processes to drive to a stronger safety culture, development and implementation of the environmental, health, safety and social risk management programs for the organization.

 

Essential Functions

  • Develop the strategy to manage environmental and safety compliance in conjunction with each Business Units throughout the RV Division
  • Collaborate with our corporate team to improve our work environment to decrease Workers Compensation cost and guide others in claims management with partnership from corporate EHS Team.
  • Develop, implement, and execution of a comprehensive health, safety, and environmental program throughout the RV Division. The implementation will be collaborative with each business unit
  • Serve as communication link between management and employees helping resolve EHS-related concerns, while promoting a culture of safety and heighten safety awareness for Business Units
  • Develop a high impact and metric based safety program and ensure that it is communicated, embraced, and managed.
  • Establish program direction, trends, priorities, plan and direct enhancements or modifications as required for Senior Management and Business Unit leaders.
  • Effectively develop strategical Emergency Response plans, help train the trainer to implement those plans and be able to assume the EHS Representative role to support business units as needed
  • Effectively audit our environmental standards and collaborate with the business units in supporting programs that will keep us compliant
  • Determine EHS training requirements at the Business Units and ensure all personnel within the RV division receive training applicable to their work processes in aligned with the Corporate EHS team
  • Help develop division budget and expense projections
  • Assess all EHS regulatory requirements for new projects and existing operations and assure compliance with those regulations while assuring the appropriate stakeholder engagement plans to reduce or eliminate risks
  • Formulate a comprehensive divisional risk assessment plan and guide the branches through an action driven approach to proactively solve risks

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred or Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Environmental (REM) desired
  • Experience and technical knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and EHS risk management
  • At least 10 years’ experience leading EH&S efforts for manufacturing facility (multiple sites mandatory)
  • Candidate must be able to embrace and lead change, possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to efficiently balance multiple projects and the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences
  • Experience with property risk management and worker’s compensation claims process and strong knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of organization
  • Ability to lead through influence is a key capability need to be successful in this role
  • Proven ability to achieve regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of EPA regulations
  • Proven change management skills by influencing and inspiring teams to welcome change and embracing new directions
