Patrick Industries is looking to add a CAD Engineer to its Design team. The CAD Engineer is responsible for developing highly accurate, visually realistic 2D and 3D digital models that support advanced design visualization and immersive, real-time environments. This role transforms OEM product data and engineering documentation into refined, full-scale digital representations used in interactive and experiential platforms. A strong emphasis is placed on realism, spatial accuracy, and performance within real-time rendering environments.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Create, refine, and optimize detailed 2D drawings and high-fidelity 3D models using industry-standard CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, CATIA, and related platforms.
  • Load, organize, and optimize OEM product models for use within Unreal Engine, Unreal Engine–based platforms, and InMotion environments.
  • Enhance realism through accurate geometry, materials, textures, lighting considerations, and true-to-scale spatial relationships.
  • Prepare and adapt CAD models for real-time and immersive visualization, balancing visual fidelity with performance requirements.
  • Maintain 1:1 scale accuracy across complex product assemblies within walkable, interactive digital environments.
  • Ensure seamless integration between CAD workflows and real-time visualization pipelines, including geometry cleanup, asset optimization, and hierarchy structuring.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including dimensions, materials, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and applicable GD&T standards.
  • Perform spatial coordination, fit checks, and tolerance considerations to ensure accuracy and consistency across full-scale environments.
  • Organize and maintain CAD files, design libraries, version control systems, and visualization-ready asset repositories.
  • Review and validate models and drawings for compliance with internal standards and relevant industry guidelines
  • Contribute to the evolution of modeling standards, realism benchmarks, and visualization best practices across real-time platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers or CAD contributors as needed.
